E27 Flame Bulb — Candle silhouette in a large-base fitting, 2700K warmth
The C35 candle shape in an E27 base is less common than its E14 equivalent — but it exists because some chandeliers, wall lights, and decorative pendants are designed around the larger E27 socket while still calling for a candle silhouette rather than a globe. If your fitting has E27 sockets and you want the tapered flame profile rather than a round bulb, this is the correct format. The white glass diffuser produces a soft, even glow at 2700K — the warmest standard LED temperature, producing a golden, amber-toned light that is well suited to dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms where atmosphere takes priority over task illumination. At 249 lm per bulb, the output is decorative rather than functional: in a six-arm chandelier, six of these bulbs together deliver approximately 1,500 lm — a comfortable ambient level for a medium-sized room. The colour temperature is fixed at 2700K. This bulb is not dimmable.
The C35 format is the standard candle shape — shorter and slightly rounder at the tip than the elongated C35L. It fits most E27 candle-style fittings without clearance issues, but if your shade has a very narrow opening, check the bulb’s maximum diameter before ordering. Because E27 candle bulbs are less frequently stocked than E14 equivalents, buying a small reserve alongside your initial order is worth considering — particularly for chandeliers where a mismatched replacement would be immediately visible. Common questions
Why does my chandelier use E27 sockets instead of E14?
+
E14 is the most common base for chandeliers in Europe, but some larger or older chandeliers — particularly those designed for higher-wattage incandescent bulbs — use E27 sockets to accommodate bulbs with greater output. E27 also appears in some contemporary chandelier designs where the larger base is part of the aesthetic. If you are unsure which base your fitting uses, remove one existing bulb and check the base diameter: E27 is 27mm across, E14 is 14mm.
Is 2700K noticeably warmer than standard warm white LEDs?
+
Yes, perceptibly so when compared side by side with a 3000K bulb. At 2700K, the light has a distinctly amber, candlelit quality — closer to the tone of a traditional incandescent than most LEDs. If you are replacing existing bulbs in a chandelier, check the Kelvin rating of the bulbs you are replacing to ensure a consistent match. Mixing 2700K and 3000K bulbs in the same fitting will produce a visible difference in tone between arms.
Is this bulb dimmable?
+
No — this bulb is not dimmable. If your chandelier or wall light is on a dimmer circuit, using this bulb may cause flickering or buzzing. Please check our LED bulbs range for dimmable E27 candle options before ordering.
What is the difference between C35 and C35L in E27?
+
C35 is the standard candle shape — compact with a gently tapered tip. C35L is the elongated version, longer and more slender with a more pronounced flame tip. Both are available in E27. The C35 is the more common format and fits most candle-style fittings; the C35L is chosen when a more elegant, tapered silhouette is preferred. Check the maximum bulb length of your fitting if you are unsure which will fit.
How many of these bulbs do I need for a chandelier to feel well-lit?
+
Each bulb produces 249 lm. As a guide: 4 bulbs = ~1,000 lm (suitable for a small dining area or hallway); 6 bulbs = ~1,500 lm (comfortable ambient level for a medium room); 8–10 bulbs = ~2,000–2,500 lm (well-lit for a larger space). For rooms with high ceilings or large floor areas, supplement the chandelier with additional wall or floor lighting rather than relying on it as the sole source.
