E14 Flame Bulb — Decorative silhouette, warm glow, visible in open fittings
The C35L elongated flame shape is the format most associated with chandeliers and multi-arm wall lights — fittings where the bulb itself is part of the visual composition. The white glass diffuser softens the LED output, eliminating the harsh point-source effect of a clear bulb and producing a gentle, even glow that reads as warm and inviting at 2700–3000K. At 3W and 249 lm, this bulb is calibrated for decorative use: it contributes to the overall light level in a multi-bulb fitting rather than serving as a primary task light. In a six-arm chandelier, six of these bulbs together deliver a combined output comparable to a single 60W incandescent — sufficient for ambient lighting in a dining room or hallway. The colour temperature is fixed at warm white and cannot be adjusted after installation. This bulb is not dimmable.
The C35L format is longer and more slender than the standard C35 candle shape, giving it a more elegant, tapered profile that suits period-style chandeliers and ornate wall lights as well as contemporary open-frame pendants. It screws directly into any E14 socket and is a straightforward replacement for older incandescent flame bulbs. For chandeliers, we recommend ordering all bulbs from the same batch to ensure consistent colour temperature across all arms. Common questions
What is the difference between C35 and C35L?
+
C35 is the standard candle shape — shorter and slightly rounder at the tip. C35L is the elongated version: longer, more slender, with a more pronounced flame-tip taper. The C35L profile is typically used in chandeliers and decorative wall lights where a more elegant silhouette is preferred. Both use the same E14 base. Check your fitting’s maximum bulb length before ordering if the socket is enclosed.
How many of these bulbs do I need for a chandelier?
+
Each bulb produces 249 lm. A 5-arm chandelier with these bulbs gives approximately 1,245 lm — comparable to a single 100W incandescent and sufficient for ambient lighting in a dining room or hallway of average size. For larger rooms or higher ceilings, consider a chandelier with more arms or supplement with additional light sources.
Is this bulb dimmable?
+
No — this bulb is not dimmable. Using it with a dimmer switch may cause flickering, buzzing, or a shortened lifespan. If your chandelier or wall light is connected to a dimmer, you will need a dimmable E14 flame bulb — please check our LED bulbs range for compatible options.
Does the white glass make the bulb look less decorative in an open fitting?
+
The white glass gives a clean, uniform appearance when unlit — it reads as a classic candle bulb rather than exposing the LED chip. When lit, it produces a soft, even glow without visible hotspots. If you prefer the look of a visible filament or a clear glass bulb, this is not the right choice — but for most chandeliers and wall lights, the white finish is the more practical and visually consistent option.
Can I use this bulb in a bathroom wall light?
+
This bulb is rated IP20 — suitable for dry indoor environments only. It is not suitable for use in bathroom zones 1 or 2 (areas directly exposed to water or steam). For a bathroom mirror light or wall light in a wet zone, you need a bulb with a minimum IP44 rating. In a dry bathroom zone (Zone 3 or outside), this bulb can be used without issue.
