LED Vanity Light — Brushed Nickel, 46 cm, 1200 lm, CRI 90, IP44, 5 Colour Temperatures
Cloakrooms and compact en suites get used every day, often by more than one person. Brushed nickel is the finish that handles that without showing it — the directional texture diffuses light across the surface rather than reflecting it as a point, which means water marks and fingerprints disappear rather than catching the light. At 46cm and 1,200 lumens, this bar is sized for compact mirrors and delivers accurate grooming light at CRI 90 across five selectable colour temperatures. Integrated LED — no bulb to buy.

Why brushed nickel in a small bathroom
Polished finishes show every water splash in a bathroom used daily. Brushed nickel does not — the fine directional texture breaks up reflections rather than concentrating them. In a cloakroom or compact en suite where the fitting is at close range and the mirror amplifies everything, that difference is visible every day. The warm-neutral tone also coordinates naturally with the brushed or satin hardware that is standard in most bathrooms: towel rails, tap sets, and shower fittings in the same tone family.
At 46cm wide and 6cm deep, this is the compact size in the range — proportioned for mirrors up to around 60cm wide. The integrated LED delivers 1,200 lumens at CRI 90, which is sufficient for accurate grooming in a small space. Five colour temperatures are selectable at the fitting: 2700K for a warm morning atmosphere, 4000K for precision grooming. Mounts horizontally above the mirror or vertically to either side, all hardware included. Browse the full wall lights collection or read our built-in lighting guide.
Common questions
Does brushed nickel tarnish or need special maintenance?
+
No — brushed nickel does not tarnish or oxidise. The finish is stable and requires only routine cleaning: wipe with a damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners and aerosol sprays. In coastal properties, wipe monthly to prevent salt build-up. No polishing or specialist treatment is needed at any point.
Does this vanity light need a special dimmer switch?
+
Yes — the integrated LED module requires a trailing edge (LED-compatible) dimmer switch. A standard leading edge dimmer will not work correctly and may cause flickering or buzzing. If your existing switch is not LED-compatible, a qualified electrician can replace it as part of the installation. Without a dimmer, the light operates at full output only.
Can this be mounted vertically as well as horizontally?
+
Yes — this bar can be mounted horizontally above the mirror or vertically to either side. Vertical side mounting gives more even, shadow-free light on the face, which is better for grooming tasks. Horizontal mounting above the mirror is the more common installation and works well for general bathroom lighting. All mounting hardware is included.
Which colour temperature should I use for a bathroom mirror light?
+
It depends on the task. For accurate makeup application or shaving, 4000K (neutral white) gives the most true-to-daylight result and minimises colour distortion. For a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere in the morning or evening, 2700K–3000K is more flattering. The five selectable temperatures mean you can switch between them at the fitting — no need to commit to one setting permanently.
Is IP44 sufficient for a bathroom installation?
+
Yes — IP44 is the minimum rating required for bathroom zone 2, which covers the area outside 60cm from the edge of a bath or shower. This fitting is suitable for installation above or beside a mirror in a standard bathroom layout. It is not rated for zone 1 (directly above or inside a shower enclosure), where IP65 or higher is required. If in doubt, confirm the zone with your electrician before installation.
