Best positioned where the panel receives direct sun for most of the day — south or west-facing walls perform best. Avoid mounting under deep overhangs that shade the panel. Does this need any wiring or an electrician?

No — this light is entirely solar powered. There is no mains connection and no wiring required. Mount it to the wall using the included fixings, position the panel in direct sunlight, and it operates automatically from the first dusk after a full charge.
Will it work in cloudy or overcast weather?

The panel charges in diffuse daylight, but output is reduced compared to direct sun. On overcast days, expect a partial charge — which may shorten the nightly run time below the 6–8 hour maximum. Performance is best in spring and summer when daylight hours are longest. In winter, reduced daylight may limit nightly output.
Is it waterproof enough for outdoor use?

It is rated IP44 — splash-proof and suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as porches, covered terraces, balconies, and carports. It is not rated for fully exposed locations subject to driving rain or prolonged water exposure. Mount it under an eave or overhang where possible for best longevity.
