Which Size to Choose — G45, A60, G80 or G95?

All four variants deliver identical light output and colour temperature — the only variable is the physical size of the bulb. The G45 (45mm) is the smallest: compact and discreet, it suits fittings with narrow shades, small E27 pendants, or decorative strings where a petite bulb is needed. The A60 (60mm) is the universal standard — the classic pear shape that fits virtually any E27 holder without clearance concerns, and the safest choice if you are unsure. The G80 (80mm) is a mid-size globe with a more distinctive rounded silhouette, suited to semi-open fittings where the bulb shape contributes to the look. The G95 (95mm) is the largest: a statement globe that works in oversized pendants, large table lamps, or any fitting designed to showcase the bulb itself. Before ordering, measure the internal diameter of your shade or the clearance in your fitting to confirm the chosen size will fit.

Across all four sizes, the frosted white finish diffuses the LED source evenly, eliminating glare and hotspots — which matters particularly in open or semi-open fittings where the bulb is at or near eye level. The 50 000-hour lifespan and 4W consumption make this a long-term, low-maintenance choice for any room. Common Questions

How do I know which size will fit my fitting?

+

Measure the internal diameter of your shade opening or the clearance inside your fitting. The number in the bulb name is the diameter in millimetres at the widest point: G45 = 45mm, A60 = 60mm, G80 = 80mm, G95 = 95mm. If you cannot measure, the A60 is the safest default — it is the most compact of the globe shapes and fits the widest range of standard fittings.

Is the light output the same across all four sizes?

+

Yes — all four variants are 4W and produce 250–499 lumens at 2700–3000K. The size of the bulb does not affect brightness or colour temperature. The only practical difference is the physical diameter and how the light is distributed across the glass surface: a larger globe spreads the same lumens over a wider area, which can make the light appear slightly softer in an open fitting.

Can I use the G95 in a standard pendant or table lamp?

+

Only if the fitting is designed to accommodate a 95mm diameter bulb. Many standard pendants and table lamps have shade openings or internal clearances smaller than 95mm, which means the G95 will not fit or will sit too close to the shade. Check the internal dimensions of your fitting before ordering the G95. It is best suited to open-socket pendants, large globe-style fittings, or lamps specifically designed for oversized bulbs.

Why is the G45 cheaper than the G95 if the output is the same?

+

The price difference reflects the amount of glass used in manufacturing, not the light output. A G95 requires significantly more glass than a G45 to form the larger globe, which increases the production cost. The LED components and wattage are identical across all sizes — you are paying for the physical size of the bulb, not for more light.

Are these bulbs suitable for use in a bathroom mirror light?

+

These bulbs carry no IP rating and are not inherently moisture-resistant. They can be used in a bathroom mirror light only if the fitting itself provides the required IP protection (IP44 minimum for zone 2 bathroom use). The bulb must remain enclosed within the IP-rated fitting and must not be exposed directly to steam or splashing water. If your mirror light is open or unenclosed, choose a fitting with an appropriate IP rating first.
