GU10 LED Bulb 6400K — Daylight, Wide Flood, Task and Workspace Lighting
At 600lm from 5W, this bulb delivers the same output as a 50W halogen at 10% of the running cost. The 6400K daylight tone is the coolest in the residential LED spectrum — a blue-white light that mimics natural daylight, maximising visual clarity and alertness. It is the correct choice for spaces where accurate colour rendering and sharp contrast matter: kitchen worktops, bathroom mirrors, home offices, art studios, and commercial environments where product colours need to read accurately under artificial light. In a living room or bedroom, 6400K will feel stark and clinical — it is not suited to atmospheric or relaxation lighting. For those spaces, 2700K or 3000K warm white is the appropriate choice. The 60° wide beam distributes light broadly across the ceiling plane, reducing dark patches between fittings in multi-downlight circuits. Not dimmable — output is fixed. ThermoTec™ heat management and EnFiniti™ lens technology deliver consistent output and low glare over the rated 25,000-hour life. Backed by a 5-year warranty.
Push in, twist to lock, switch on — no electrician required for a like-for-like bulb replacement. Confirm the cap type is GU10 (push-and-twist, not GU5.3 or MR16) before ordering. Browse the full LED bulbs collection or read our indoor lighting guide.
Common questions
Is this a simple replacement, or does it need an electrician?
+
No electrician needed. This is a GU10 (push-and-twist) bulb — push in, twist to lock, switch on. If the fixture is already hardwired, replacing the bulb does not touch the circuit.
Which fittings does this work with?
+
Designed for GU10 (push-and-twist) fixtures — spotlights, downlights, and track fittings. Before ordering, check the cap type marked on your existing fixture or bulb. GU10 is not the same as GU5.3 or MR16 — the pin spacing and fitting mechanism differ. Browse our LED bulbs collection for other cap types and colour temperatures.
Can this be dimmed?
+
No — this bulb is non-dimmable. Fitting it on a dimmer circuit will cause flickering or premature failure. If you need dimming, browse our dimmable GU10 alternatives in the LED bulbs collection.
Is 6400K daylight suitable for a living room or bedroom?
+
No — 6400K daylight is a cool, blue-white tone that will feel stark and clinical in a living room or bedroom. It is not suited to atmospheric or relaxation lighting. For those spaces, 2700K extra warm white or 3000K warm white is the appropriate choice. 6400K is best suited to kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, art studios, and commercial environments where visual clarity and colour accuracy matter more than ambience.
What does the 5-year warranty cover?
+
The 5-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and premature failure under normal use conditions. If the bulb fails within the warranty period, contact us with proof of purchase and we will arrange a replacement. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, use on an incompatible dimmer circuit, or physical damage.
