Choosing your finish
Brushed Nickel is the practical choice for a daily-use en suite. The directional texture resists fingerprints and water marks better than polished finishes, and the warm-neutral tone coordinates with both chrome and brass hardware. No tarnishing, no oxidisation, no specialist maintenance required.
Chrome is the finish that works with everything already in the room. If the taps, towel rail, and shower fittings are already installed, chrome removes the coordination problem entirely. The reflective surface also adds perceived brightness to the mirror zone — useful in a bathroom without a window.
Matte Black at 61cm is long enough to read as a horizontal architectural element above the mirror. The non-reflective body disappears when the light is off and lets the diffuser come forward when it is on. Works best against pale tiles or white walls where the contrast is strongest.
Satin Brass is the choice when the room is designed rather than assembled. Lacquered, so it holds its tone without the maintenance that natural brass requires. Pairs with brushed brass taps, oak vanity units, and warm stone or terracotta tiles.

What mirror width does the 61cm fitting suit?

The 61cm bar works best above mirrors from 55 to 75cm wide — the standard range for a single-basin en suite. If your mirror is narrower than 50cm, the small (46cm) size will give better visual proportion. If your mirror is wider than 80cm or you have a double basin, consider the large (91cm) version for even coverage across the full width.
How high above the mirror should I mount this fitting?

For horizontal mounting above the mirror, 15 to 20cm above the top edge is the standard range. Closer than 10cm and the fitting can cast shadows downward onto the face. Further than 25cm and the light spreads too wide before reaching the mirror zone. Confirm the back box position with your electrician before fixing — it cannot be easily moved once plastered.
Does this need a special dimmer switch?

Yes — the integrated LED module requires a trailing edge (LED-compatible) dimmer switch. A standard leading edge dimmer will not work correctly and may cause flickering or buzzing. If your existing switch is not LED-compatible, a qualified electrician can replace it as part of the installation. Without a dimmer, the light operates at full output only.
Is IP44 sufficient for a bathroom installation?

Yes — IP44 is the minimum rating required for bathroom zone 2, which covers the area outside 60cm from the edge of a bath or shower. This fitting is suitable for installation above or beside a mirror in a standard bathroom layout. It is not rated for zone 1 (directly above or inside a shower enclosure), where IP65 or higher is required. Confirm the zone with your electrician before installation.
Which colour temperature is best for grooming tasks?

For accurate makeup application or shaving, 4000K (neutral white) gives the most true-to-daylight result and minimises colour distortion. For a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere in the morning or evening, 2700K–3000K is more flattering.
