Does this pendant need a qualified electrician to install?

Yes. This is a hardwired pendant — it connects directly to your ceiling electrical box and has no plug. Given the weight of the solid wood beam and the four-socket assembly, professional installation is strongly recommended. The electrician can also set the cable drop heights during fitting.
Is the 70 cm beam long enough for my kitchen island?
