Industrial Chain Pendant — Large Format, Chain Suspension, Statement Piece
At Ø60cm, this is a large-format pendant — proportionate over a dining table of 180cm or more, or as a solo centrepiece in an open-plan living area. The chain suspension allows height adjustment at installation by shortening or lengthening the chain links; this is done once by your electrician and is not a day-to-day mechanism. The shade is not tiltable and directs light straight down, producing a focused pool of warm light below. The fitting produces a relatively low light output for its size — it is a decorative statement piece first, a task light second. For rooms requiring strong ambient light, pair it with secondary wall or floor lighting. We recommend a filament-style LED E27 at 2700K to complement the black metal aesthetic; a globe or oversized Edison bulb will be visible through the shade opening and adds to the industrial character.
This pendant suits high-ceilinged spaces — lofts, converted warehouses, open-plan kitchens — where the chain and large shade can be appreciated from a distance. In rooms with standard 240cm ceilings, confirm the final hanging height carefully: the shade bottom should sit at least 200cm from the floor in circulation areas to avoid head clearance issues. It is a hardwired fitting requiring a qualified electrician. Not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use (IP20). Common Questions
Is Ø60cm the right size for my dining table?
+
A single Ø60cm pendant works well over a dining table of 160–200cm. For longer tables, consider two smaller pendants spaced evenly rather than one large one. The shade should be roughly one-third the table width for visual balance.
How is the chain height adjusted?
+
The chain length is adjusted at installation by removing links or looping the excess inside the ceiling rose. This is a one-time adjustment done by your electrician — it is not a pull-cord or day-to-day mechanism. Decide on your final hanging height before the electrician leaves.
Will this pendant provide enough light on its own?
+
This fitting produces a relatively low light output for its size — it is primarily a decorative statement piece. For rooms requiring strong ambient light, pair it with wall lights or a floor lamp. Over a dining table, a warm 40W-equivalent filament LED will provide adequate task light for the surface below.
Does this require an electrician to install?
+
Yes — this is a hardwired fitting. A qualified electrician must connect it to the ceiling circuit. There is no plug-in option. If there is no existing ceiling rose at the desired location, a new circuit point will be required.
What bulb works best with this pendant?
+
A filament-style LED E27 at 2700K, maximum 40W equivalent. A globe or oversized Edison bulb will be partially visible through the shade opening and enhances the industrial look. Avoid cool white bulbs (4000K+) — they conflict with the black metal finish.
