Solar powered, no socket — what this means for placement

Common questions
Will these work in overcast or cloudy weather?

Solar panels charge in diffuse daylight as well as direct sun, but at a lower rate. On a heavily overcast day, the panel may only reach a partial charge, which reduces run time in the evening. The 6-hour full-charge / 8-hour run-time figures are based on full sun. In mixed weather, expect 4–6 hours of run time on a partially cloudy day. Position the panel in the sunniest available spot, facing south if possible, and clear of shade from trees or buildings.
How do I switch between warm white and multicolour?

The mode selector is on the solar panel unit. Press the button to cycle between warm white, multicolour, and off. No separate remote or controller is required. Set the mode before mounting the panel if access will be difficult once installed.
Can I leave these out all year round?

The IP44 rating covers rain and splashing water, so the lights can remain outdoors through normal weather conditions year-round. In winter, shorter daylight hours and lower sun angles will reduce daily charge time, which means shorter run times in the evenings. If you want consistent performance through winter, bring the solar panel indoors during extended periods of very low light or frost.
