Does this need an electrician to install?

The string plugs into a standard outdoor socket — no hardwiring or electrician required. You will need an outdoor-rated socket within reach of the lead cable (15cm to the first bulb). If you do not have an outdoor socket, a qualified electrician can install one. For permanent outdoor installations, ensure the socket is IP44 rated or higher. How many chains can I connect together?

Up to 4 chains can be connected end-to-end from a single socket. Using the 15.25m / 50-light chain, that gives a maximum run of approximately 61m from one power point. Do not exceed 4 chains — connecting more than the rated maximum can overload the cable and create a safety risk.
Can I replace individual bulbs if one fails?

Yes — the G40 bulbs are replaceable. Each bulb sits in an E12 socket and can be unscrewed and replaced individually. Spare bulbs are included in the box (2 with the 30-light chain, 4 with the 50-light chain). Replacement G40 E12 bulbs are a standard size available from most lighting suppliers.
