Rope Spider Chandelier — Natural Hemp Texture, Boho & Rustic, Dining Room & Living Room
This is a hardwired ceiling fixture — a qualified electrician is required for installation. The 150cm braided hemp ropes hang from a central iron canopy, each ending in an E27 socket — the ropes are the visual centrepiece, creating a cascading, organic silhouette. Important: despite hemp being a natural material, this fixture is rated IP20 and is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens near steam, or any damp environment. Each socket is rated at 6W max — this is a decorative and ambient fixture; for larger rooms, plan for supplementary lighting. Small globe or candle LED bulbs (E27, 2700K) are recommended to complement the natural rope texture; a warm filament-style bulb enhances the boho aesthetic. The rope length is fixed at 150cm and can be shortened during installation but not extended. Natural hemp will show slight colour and texture variation between units — this is inherent to the material. Browse our full chandeliers collection.
The 3-head version suits bedrooms, reading corners, or small dining tables. The 6-head version works well above a medium dining table or in a living room as a statement centrepiece. The 10-head version is best for large open-plan spaces, double-height rooms, or loft-style interiors where the cascading ropes can be fully appreciated. The natural hemp pairs beautifully with rattan furniture, linen textiles, raw wood, and terracotta tones — it suits bohemian, rustic, Japandi, and coastal interiors equally well. For a layered scheme, combine with wall lights in a natural or warm metal finish. For broader inspiration, read our guide on home lighting ideas 2026.
Common questions
Do I need an electrician to install this chandelier?
+
Yes. This is a hardwired ceiling fixture and must be installed by a qualified electrician. It connects directly to your ceiling wiring — it is not a plug-in lamp.
Can I use this chandelier in a bathroom or kitchen?
+
No. Despite the natural hemp material, this fixture is rated IP20 and is suitable for dry indoor rooms only. It must not be used in bathrooms, near kitchen steam, or in any damp or humid environment.
How do I choose between 3, 6 and 10 heads?
+
3 heads suits bedrooms and small dining areas. 6 heads works well in medium dining rooms and living rooms. 10 heads is best for large open-plan spaces or double-height rooms where the cascading ropes can be fully appreciated. More heads also means more total light output.
Will the hemp ropes look the same as in the photos?
+
Natural hemp shows slight colour and texture variation between units — this is inherent to the material and not a defect. The overall look and tone will be consistent with the product photos, but minor differences are expected and add to the handcrafted character.
Is this chandelier dimmable?
+
There is no built-in dimmer. To dim the light, you need dimmable E27 bulbs and a dimmer wall switch — confirm compatibility with your electrician during installation.
