Nox — Design, Placement & Honest Limits
Nox's compact 22.7×11 cm footprint makes it well suited to tight spaces where a larger bar fitting would feel oversized — a porch pillar, a sheltered side entrance, or the wall beside a covered carport door. The black powder-coated aluminium body and frosted acrylic diffuser produce a soft, even 3000K warm white glow that activates automatically on motion detection and switches off after an idle period. Sensor sensitivity and time-out delay are factory-set and cannot be adjusted; detection range is 3–5 m. The LED module is integrated and non-replaceable. Not dimmable. Important: Nox is rated IP20, which means it must be installed in a covered location protected from direct rain and moisture — a porch ceiling or soffit, a sheltered wall under an overhang, or an internal hallway. It is not suitable for exposed outdoor walls subject to direct rainfall.
At 6W, Nox produces a decorative ambient glow rather than high-output task lighting — ideal for marking an entrance, illuminating a porch, or adding a warm accent to a sheltered garden wall. For exposed outdoor walls or higher-lumen applications, consider our IP65-rated Linea bar light. Hardwired installation requires a qualified electrician. Common Questions
Can Nox be installed on an exposed outdoor wall?
+
No — Nox is rated IP20, which means it is not protected against water ingress. It must be installed in a covered location such as a porch ceiling, a sheltered soffit, or a wall fully protected from direct rain. For exposed outdoor walls, choose an IP65-rated fitting such as our Linea bar light.
Is 6W bright enough for a porch or entrance?
+
Nox produces a soft, decorative ambient glow — well suited to marking an entrance or adding warmth to a sheltered porch. It is not designed for high-output task or security lighting. For brighter coverage, consider a higher-wattage fitting or pair Nox with a second light source.
Can I adjust the motion sensor sensitivity or time-out?
+
No — the sensor sensitivity and auto-off delay are factory-set and cannot be adjusted. Detection range is 3–5 m depending on mounting height and angle.
Can the LED module be replaced when it reaches end of life?
+
No — the LED is integrated and fixed. It cannot be replaced by the user. Integrated LED modules in quality fittings are typically rated for 25,000–50,000 hours of use.
Does Nox require a hardwired connection?
+
Yes — Nox is a hardwired wall fitting with no plug. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician who will connect it to your mains supply and ensure correct cable routing for the installation location.
