Iron Cage Pendant — Wrought iron & wood, open cage, two shapes
The open cage structure is the defining feature — the wrought iron frame allows light to project outward in all directions, casting geometric shadow patterns on the ceiling and walls that become part of the room’s atmosphere. The wood accents add warmth and organic texture to what would otherwise be a purely industrial fitting, making it more versatile across Nordic, Japandi, and modern-rustic interiors. The two shapes serve different spatial contexts: Wider Cut has a horizontal emphasis that suits wider spaces and works well over a dining table or kitchen island where horizontal spread is wanted; Portrait has a vertical emphasis that reads taller and suits narrower spaces, hallways, or positions where ceiling height needs to be emphasised. The E27 socket accepts most standard bulbs — we recommend a warm filament LED at 2700K, which will produce the most flattering shadow patterns through the cage. The adjustable hanging height gives flexibility across different ceiling heights. This is a hardwired pendant: a qualified electrician is required for installation. The 90–260V range covers IE/EU/UK and US/Canada circuits. Dry indoor use only. Dimmability depends on the bulb chosen and whether your ceiling circuit is on a dimmer.
This pendant works well as a single statement over a dining table, in a cluster of two or three at staggered heights over a kitchen island, or as a feature in a living room or hallway. The cage form reads well in spaces with plain walls where the shadow patterns can be appreciated. For dining rooms, hang the bottom of the fitting 70–80 cm above the table surface. Common questions
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant?
+
Yes. This is a hardwired ceiling pendant that connects directly to your ceiling wiring. A qualified electrician is required for safe installation. Mounting hardware is included.
What is the difference between Wider Cut and Portrait?
+
Wider Cut has a horizontal emphasis — it is broader than it is tall, suited to dining tables and kitchen islands where horizontal light spread is wanted. Portrait has a vertical emphasis — it is taller than it is wide, suited to narrower spaces, hallways, or positions where you want to draw the eye upward. Both are priced identically.
What bulb should I use?
+
Bulb is not included. We recommend a warm white filament LED at 2700K in E27. The open cage design means the bulb is fully visible, so a filament bulb enhances the industrial-Nordic aesthetic and produces the most flattering shadow patterns through the cage frame.
Can I group multiple pendants together?
+
Yes. Grouping two or three at staggered heights works particularly well over a kitchen island or long dining table. Each pendant requires its own ceiling connection point — discuss the layout with your electrician before installation.
Is this light dimmable?
+
Dimmability depends on the bulb you choose and whether your ceiling circuit is on a dimmer. The fitting is compatible with dimmable E27 bulbs, but you will need both a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch installed by your electrician.
