Large Industrial Ceiling Light — Finish, Scale & Room Fit
The matt black thermolacquered finish is durable, scratch-resistant, and absorbs light rather than reflecting it — which keeps the focus on the glow from the bulbs rather than the fixture itself. With eight E27 sockets across a 120cm span, this ceiling light delivers broad, even coverage suited to large open-plan spaces, long dining rooms, or commercial interiors. For the best industrial aesthetic, use warm filament LEDs (2700K, 4–6W each) — they keep total draw under 50W while producing a rich, layered light across the full span. There is no built-in dimmer; dimmability depends on your bulb choice and whether your ceiling circuit includes a compatible dimmer module. This fixture is hardwired and rated IP20 — strictly for dry indoor spaces, not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.
At 120cm, this ceiling light works best in rooms of at least 20m², centred over a long dining table, spanning a kitchen island, or anchoring an open-plan living area. Its all-black finish pairs naturally with exposed brick, concrete, and dark timber — and contrasts well with white or light-coloured walls. Common questions
What room size suits this 120cm ceiling light?
+
We recommend a minimum room size of 20m² for a ceiling light of this span. As a general rule, the fixture width should be roughly half the width of the dining table or space it covers. A 120cm fixture suits tables of 200cm or longer, or open-plan areas where broad coverage is needed.
How many bulbs does it take, and are they included?
+
It takes 8×E27 bulbs, none of which are included. We recommend warm white filament LEDs (2700K, 4–6W each) for the best industrial look and energy efficiency. Do not exceed 40W per socket.
Is this ceiling light dimmable?
+
The fixture has no built-in dimmer. To dim it, you need 8 dimmable-rated E27 bulbs and a compatible dimmer ceiling switch. All 8 bulbs must be dimmable for consistent results — mixing dimmable and non-dimmable bulbs can cause flickering.
Does this fixture need to be installed by an electrician?
+
Yes. This is a hardwired ceiling fixture with no plug. Given its size and weight, we strongly recommend installation by a qualified electrician to ensure safe ceiling fixing and correct electrical connection.
Will the matt black finish show dust or fingerprints?
+
Matt black finishes can show dust more visibly than gloss finishes, but fingerprints are less obvious than on gloss surfaces. A soft dry cloth or a microfibre duster is all that’s needed for regular maintenance. Avoid abrasive cleaners which can scratch the thermolacquered surface.
