Glass Pendant Light — Clear or Cognac glass, IP44, 3 proportions for different spaces
The glass shade is the defining element: Clear glass gives a clean, transparent look that suits minimal, Nordic, and contemporary interiors — the bulb is visible and becomes part of the aesthetic, so a filament LED is strongly recommended. Cognac glass has a warm amber tint that filters the light, producing a softer, more atmospheric glow and concealing the bulb — it suits warmer, more eclectic or vintage-influenced schemes. The three sizes differ in proportion: Small (~23×22 cm) is compact and suited to bedside, hallway, or kitchen island use; Medium (~17×28 cm) is taller and narrower, giving a more elongated silhouette suited to dining tables or living rooms; Large (~38×25 cm) is the widest and most prominent, suited to dining tables for 6+ or as a statement pendant in a larger room. IP44 means it can be used in kitchens and bathroom zone 2 (more than 60 cm from the shower or bath edge). The E27 socket accepts any standard bulb — for Clear glass, use a filament LED (4–6W, 2200–2700K); for Cognac, a standard E27 LED (6–8W, 2700K) works well. The cable is adjustable up to ~100 cm at the ceiling rose. This is a hardwired fixture: a qualified electrician should handle installation.
Works well over a dining table, kitchen island, bedside, or as a feature pendant in a living room. Grouping two or three Small or Medium pendants at the same height creates a clean, considered cluster. Common questions
Should I choose Clear or Cognac?
+
Clear glass is fully transparent — the bulb is visible and becomes part of the look. Use a filament LED for the best aesthetic. It suits minimal, Nordic, and contemporary interiors. Cognac glass has a warm amber tint that softens and filters the light, concealing the bulb. It suits warmer, vintage, or eclectic schemes and produces a more atmospheric glow.
Which size suits a kitchen island?
+
The Small (~23×22 cm) is the most versatile for kitchen islands — compact enough to cluster two or three over a longer island without overwhelming the space. The Medium (~17×28 cm) works well as a single pendant over a shorter island section. The Large (~38×25 cm) is better suited to dining tables or living rooms where more visual presence is wanted.
Can I use this in a kitchen or bathroom?
+
Yes, with conditions. IP44 means it is protected against water splashes, making it suitable for kitchen use and bathroom zone 2 (more than 60 cm from the shower or bath edge, outside the direct spray area). It is not suitable for zone 0 or zone 1. Always consult a qualified electrician for bathroom installations.
What bulb should I use?
+
For Clear glass: a filament LED E27 (4–6W, 2200–2700K, globe or ST64 shape) — the visible filament adds character. For Cognac glass: a standard E27 LED (6–8W, 2700K) works well as the tinted glass softens the output. Avoid cool white bulbs (4000K+) with either finish.
Does this need an electrician to install?
+
Yes. This is a hardwired ceiling pendant — no plug, direct connection to ceiling wiring. A qualified electrician should carry out the installation to ensure safety and compliance with local wiring regulations.
