How do I clean the wood and fabric parts of this lamp?

Switch off and allow to cool before cleaning. For the wood body, wipe with a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately — avoid aerosol polish or abrasive cleaners. For the fabric shade, use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum at low suction, running along the grain of the fabric. Do not use damp cloths or spray cleaners on the fabric.
Is this lamp suitable as the only light source in a bedroom?
